42 Arrested in Mahzen-36 Operation Against Organized Crime Group
A successful operation against organized crime groups in Bursa and several other provinces has led to the detention of 42 suspects, including the ringleader. Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya praised the work of the Bursa Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Yenişehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for their coordination in the “Mahzen-36” operation.
The suspects, who are members of an organized crime group involved in manufacturing and trading drugs, sexual abuse, human trafficking, threats, and blackmail, were found to have committed various crimes. They deceived victims by giving them drugs, forced them to steal, engage in drug dealing and prostitution, and used blackmail and violence to pressure those who refused to commit crimes.
During the operations, law enforcement authorities seized 6 unlicensed pistols, 5 hunting rifles, various drugs, and digital materials. Minister Yerlikaya took to social media to express his determination to combat organized crime and bring perpetrators to justice, regardless of their size. He commended the efforts of the gendarmerie and the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, emphasizing that operations will continue relentlessly.
