
48 Immigrants Caught off Ayvalık Coast as Teams Take Immediate Action

On a recent morning, the Coast Guard Mobile Radar (MORAD-12) in Ayvalık detected a group of irregular immigrants traveling in a rubber boat. The Coast Guard Ship TCSG-61 quickly sprang into action, intercepting the rubber boat before it could reach Lesbos Island and apprehending 48 immigrants of Afghan nationality, including women and children.
The immigrants were then transported to the Coast Guard Command on Cunda Island in Ayvalık. It was reported that legal proceedings have been initiated against the immigrants, while they are also receiving humanitarian aid.
As of now, the 48 immigrants are expected to be transferred to the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges and risks faced by irregular immigrants seeking new opportunities and a better quality of life. It also highlights the crucial role played by the Coast Guard in safeguarding the borders and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals involved.
