493 Roads Closed Due to Heavy Snow

Heavy Snowfall Closes Hundreds of Village Roads in Northern Turkey

The recent snowfall in various provinces in northern Turkey has resulted in the closure of hundreds of village roads, causing transportation disruptions and difficulties for residents in the affected areas.

In Sinop, a total of 83 village roads have been closed for transportation, with the highest numbers in Ayancık, Gerze, Boyabat, Erfelek, Saraydüzü, and the central district. Similarly, in Tokat and Amasya, 40 and 35 village roads, respectively, have become inaccessible due to the heavy snowfall.

The situation is most severe in Kastamonu, where a staggering 335 village roads have been shut down, making it nearly impossible for residents to navigate through the region.

To address this issue, Special Provincial Administration teams have been deployed to work on opening the closed roads and restoring accessibility for the affected villagers. In Çorum, for example, 39 village roads that were previously closed have been successfully reopened after dedicated efforts by the authorities.

As winter weather continues to impact the region, residents are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on road conditions to ensure their safety during this challenging period.Authorities are working tirelessly to mitigate the impacts of the heavy snowfall and restore normalcy to the affected areas as soon as possible.
