49th Anniversary of 20 July Peace and Freedom Day Celebrated with Official Parade on Fazıl Küçük Boulevard
On July 20th, Nicosia Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard witnessed an official parade to commemorate the 49th anniversary of 20 July Peace and Freedom Day. The ceremony was graced by the presence of notable figures including President Ersin Tatar, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, President of the Supreme Court Narin Ferdi Şefik, 2nd President Mehmet Ali Talat, 3rd President Derviş Eroğlu, TR Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, Security Forces Commander Major General Zorlu Topalfanoğlu, 28th Division Commander General of the Opposition Tuft, Major General of the Turkish Division Party Chairman Devlet Bahceli, ministers from the TRNC and TR, as well as other officials and citizens.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the flags, which were brought from Yavuz Landing Beach, followed by the National Anthem. President Ersin Tatar received the flags during this momentous occasion. The event proceeded with speeches delivered by President Tatar and Turkish President Erdoğan, culminating in an impressive official parade.
