50th Anniversary Reception Held by Bar Association
The Cyprus Turkish Bar Association recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a year reception held in Kyrenia. The event was attended by several notable members, including President of the Association Hasan Esendağlı, 2nd President Mehmet Ali Talat, Supreme Court President Narin Ferdi Şefik, Main opposition CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman, Chief Prosecutor Sarper Altıncık, President of the Court of Accounts Osman Korahan, ministers, deputies, mayors, political party representatives, judges, prosecutors, and lawyers.
During his speech, President Esendağlı spoke about the history of the union, which has transformed over the past 50 years from a professional organization into a non-governmental organization that is sensitive to social issues and creates a pressure element. He emphasized the importance of their partnership and the organization’s pride in working towards protecting and observing legal rights, especially human rights.
The Cyprus Turkish Bar Association has over a thousand members and is one of the largest professional organizations in the country. They continue to work towards defending the professions and society for better days in the country. As part of their celebration, lawyers who have completed 40 years in the profession were presented with plaques by young lawyers newly registered to the bar association.
The event was a testament to the progress and dedication of the Cyprus Turkish Bar Association in their mission to uphold legal rights and justice in the country.
