Concerns Grow After Students Fall Ill at Sivas Cumhuriyet University
In a troubling incident at Sivas Cumhuriyet University (CU), several students from the Sancaktar Girls’ Dormitory were reported to have fallen ill shortly after a meal. The situation has raised alarms, prompting immediate action from health authorities.
A total of 53 students sought medical attention at CU Health Services Application and Research Hospital, as well as Numune Hospital and Sivas State Hospital, due to concerns of suspected food poisoning. The symptoms experienced by the students have led to a swift investigation into the source of the illness.
In response to the outbreak, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, along with the Provincial Health Directorate, have confirmed that food samples from the campus kitchen have been collected for analysis. This investigation aims to identify any potential contaminants and ensure the safety of meals served to students.
Authorities are urging anyone who experiences similar symptoms to seek medical evaluation promptly. As investigations continue, university officials and health teams are working diligently to address the situation and safeguard the health of all students.
