Minister Göktaş Highlights People-Centered Policies during Visit to Giresun
Minister Göktaş recently visited Giresun and met with Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti, where he emphasized the implementation of people-centered policies under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with a focus on social welfare.
During his visit, Göktaş highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening social services in cities by prioritizing the needs of citizens. He noted that a total investment of 110 billion 174 million liras has been made in Giresun, with 6 billion 905 million liras dedicated to the Ministry’s investment and social support for the city.
Göktaş also mentioned the establishment of 6 social service centers in Giresun to provide services to all segments of society. Additionally, he announced the launch of the Family and Youth Fund as a pilot program in the earthquake region, which will soon be expanded to assist young couples starting families in all 81 provinces.
The Minister highlighted the home care assistance service, which currently benefits 542 thousand people nationwide. In Giresun alone, 3 thousand 750 citizens receive this service, with a total of 54.7 billion liras allocated for home care assistance in 2024.
Looking ahead, Göktaş reiterated the government’s commitment to working towards a better future for Türkiye under President Erdoğan’s leadership. He emphasized the importance of continued sensitivity in delivering services and ensuring the welfare and peace of citizens.
During his visit, Göktaş also paid respects to the family of Gendarmerie Corporal Zafer Konak, who was martyred in Elazığ in 2005. He also met with AK Party Provincial Chairman Mete Bahadır Yılmaz and party members to discuss further initiatives for the region.
