5th Annual Güneşköy Pomegranate Fair Kicks Off
The fifth Traditional Güneşköy Pomegranate Fair is currently underway, organized by the Güneşköy Mukhtar annually. The fair, located at Güneşköy Wedding Hall, kicked off with a grand ceremony.
Children’s activities and a lively folklore show by the Güzelyurt Municipality Folk Dances team marked the beginning of the fair. Following this, opening speeches were delivered by various dignitaries.
Güneşköy Headman Akay Darbaz emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance the fair each year and stressed the significance of its continuity. Deputy Mayor of Güzelyurt Municipality Salih Saldam and Güzelyurt District Governor Savaş Orakçıoğlu expressed their gratitude to all those involved in organizing the fair.
During the event, sponsors who supported the fair were recognized with thank you plaques. The fair continued into the night with musical concerts and performances, offering a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere.
Scheduled to conclude on the evening of Sunday, October 13, the fair features stands selling local products and offers free blood pressure, sugar, and pulse measurements. Additionally, a blood donation campaign is being conducted on the fairgrounds, adding a charitable aspect to the festivities.
