Turkey’s Olive Producers See Growth in Exports to Various Countries
According to data from the Uludağ Exporters’ Associations (UİB), olive producers in Turkey had a successful year in 2024 with external sales to 48 countries. The sector saw a 29 percent increase in black and green olive exports, totaling 48 million 295 thousand dollars and 59 million 809 thousand dollars respectively.
Black olive exports from Turkey increased by 25.4 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 52 million 352 thousand dollars. The highest external sales of black olives in 2024 were made to Germany, followed by the US and the Netherlands.
On the other hand, green olive exports from Turkey increased by 3.6 percent to 7 million 457 thousand dollars in 2024. The highest external sales of green olives were also made to Germany, followed by the United Kingdom and the US.
Jordan saw a significant increase in green olive exports from Turkey, with a 398 percent growth from the previous year. Other countries that experienced growth in olive exports from Turkey include Northern Macedonia, Australia, and Iraq.
In addition to traditional markets like Germany and the US, Turkish olive producers successfully expanded their reach to countries like Jordan and Australia, demonstrating the high demand for Turkish olives worldwide. With continued focus on quality and innovation, Turkey’s olive industry is poised for further growth in the coming years.
