
6th Annual Bağlıköy Eco Day Honors Perihan Aziz – BRTK

Bağlıköy Eco Day Event Celebrated for the Sixth Time
The Bağlıköy Eco Day event, organized by the Bağlıköy Eco Tourism Volunteers Association in collaboration with Lefke Municipality and Lefke European University, took place for the sixth consecutive year. The event, which aims to introduce Bağlıköy, preserve its cultural heritage, and boost the village’s economy, was held in the village square in memory of Perihan Aziz, the founding president of the association.
Taner Kerimoğlu, the President of the Bağlıköy Eco Tourism Volunteers Association, opened the event with a speech honoring Perihan Aziz and highlighting the importance of continuing the work she started. The event was attended by Coşkun Ersev, the headman of Bağlıköy, and President Ersin Tatar, who emphasized the significance of preserving Bağlıköy’s unique architectural and cultural heritage.
President Tatar praised Perihan Aziz for her contributions to the village and the Turkish Cypriot community, stating that her legacy would endure for generations to come. He emphasized the importance of events like Bağlıköy Eco Day in promoting Turkish Cypriot culture and history to the world.
The event featured dance performances, music concerts, and various cultural activities, showcasing the rich heritage of Bağlıköy and celebrating the spirit of community and preservation. Participants and sponsors were thanked for their support, and the success of the event was celebrated as a testament to the dedication of the Bağlıköy Eco Tourism Volunteers Association and its mission to promote sustainable tourism and cultural preservation.
