7-Year-Old Boy’s Genitals Amputated in Illegal Circumcision at Health Cabin
A 7-year-old boy in Kayseri suffered a horrific incident after his genitals became gangrenous following an illegal circumcision performed in a health cabin. The health officer responsible for the procedure is now facing a criminal complaint.
The Governor’s Office in Kayseri issued a statement regarding the case, confirming that an investigation has been launched. The family of the young boy sought medical treatment at Erciyes University Medical Faculty Hospital after complications arose from the circumcision performed by the health officer. It was revealed that the circumcision took place in a private health cabin in Develi district and the health officer involved has been suspended.
Authorities have detained three suspects in connection with the incident, and both judicial and administrative investigations are underway. The young boy is currently receiving treatment at the Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
The tragic incident unfolded when the boy’s father took him to the health cabin for circumcision. Despite the Ministry of Health’s prohibition on such procedures in non-hospital settings, the circumcision was performed, leading to severe complications and the boy’s genitals becoming gangrenous.
The father recounted the negligence and mistreatment his son experienced, including being sent home without proper monitoring post-circumcision. The health officer allegedly downplayed the severity of the situation and even threatened the boy to keep quiet about the ordeal.
It was later discovered that complaints had been previously filed against the health officer for similar incidents, and the Ministry of Health had prohibited circumcisions in health cabins back in 2015.
This heartbreaking case sheds light on the importance of upholding regulations and ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals, especially when it comes to medical procedures. The family is seeking justice for their son, whose life is still in danger due to the irreversible harm caused by the illegal circumcision.
