Coast Guard Rescues Dozens of Illegal Immigrants Off the Coast of Turkey
Coast Guard teams received distressing information yesterday about a group of illegal immigrants stranded off the coast of Karaburun district. At 16.07, the teams swiftly responded to the call and managed to rescue 49 individuals, including 14 children, who were stranded on two life rafts.
In a separate incident on the same day, at 05.45, another rubber boat carrying illegal immigrants experienced engine failure and drifted off the coast of Foça district. Once again, the Coast Guard teams rushed to the scene and successfully rescued 27 people, including 2 children, from the troubled vessel.
Upon reaching the shore, the rescued individuals were taken to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management for further processing. These timely and heroic efforts by the Coast Guard teams have undoubtedly saved countless lives and prevented a potential tragedy from unfolding.
