Turkey Takes Over Command of Combined Task Force (CTF-151) for 7th Time
The Ministry of National Defence has announced that Turkey has officially taken over the command of the Combined Task Force (CTF-151) from Brazil at the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Headquarters in Manama, Bahrain. This marks the 7th time that Turkey will be in charge of CTF-151, with their command tenure scheduled to last from July 24, 2024, to January 22, 2025.
In a statement released by the Ministry of National Defence, it was highlighted that Turkey had previously led the CTF-151 on 6 occasions, showcasing their experience and expertise in maritime security operations. The handover ceremony took place at the CMF Headquarters in Manama, the capital city of Bahrain, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in ensuring the safety and security of maritime routes.
