
8 Illegal Immigrants Caught in Amasya, 3 Arrested

Three individuals were arrested after attempting to smuggle 8 illegal immigrants from Ağrı’s Doğubayazıt district to Istanbul. The minibus driver, Reis Güngör, and his friends Barış Koçak and Şinasi Durmuş were apprehended by the Amasya Provincial Police Department Anti-Immigrant Smuggling and Border Gates Branch Directorate teams.
The illegal immigrants, ranging in age from 15 to 30, were caught as they got off the minibus at an enforcement point. The authorities detained the three individuals, who attempted to flee the scene.
After being taken to the Provincial Police Department, the illegal immigrants were handed over to the Amasya Provincial Directorate of Immigration Administration for deportation. Meanwhile, Reis Güngör, Barış Koçak, and Şinasi Durmuş were brought to the courthouse today after their police station procedures and subsequently arrested by the judgeship.
This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges and risks associated with illegal immigration and the efforts of law enforcement to combat smuggling operations.
