
8 Suspects Arrested in Connection to Hand Grenades Found in Beykoz

Nine suspects have been detained in connection with an investigation by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office after two hand grenades were discovered on the roadside at the Kavacık junction of the TEM Highway in Beykoz. Following their procedures at the police station, the suspects were sent to the courthouse where 8 of them were arrested on charges of unauthorized possession or transfer of dangerous substances and violation of Law No. 6136. One suspect was released under judicial control provisions.
The Istanbul Police Department Organized Crime Department and Counter-Terrorism Department worked together to catch the suspects in an operation conducted in Şişli and Şile. During searches at their addresses, security forces seized 2 long-barreled guns, 3 long-barreled gun magazines, 72 bullets, 2 bulletproof vests, 4 ski masks, and a stolen vehicle.
The joint effort by law enforcement agencies led to the apprehension of the suspects and the discovery of various weapons and equipment. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more information about the incident and those involved.
