83 Arrested in Police Operation Across 13 Provinces: Narkocelik-24
Authorities Carry Out Operation Against Drug Dealers and Street Vendors
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya recently made an announcement on his social media account regarding the successful completion of the “Narkoçelik-24” operations in 13 provinces. The operations specifically targeted drug manufacturers, sellers, and street dealers.
A total of 83 individuals involved in the illegal drug trade were apprehended during the operation. Out of the detained suspects, 28 have been formally arrested, while a judicial control order has been issued for 17 others. Legal proceedings against 5 suspects are still ongoing.
In a significant seizure, authorities managed to confiscate 911 kilograms of drugs, along with 10,995,000 pieces of cannabis and roots during the operation. Minister Yerlikaya expressed his firm determination to eradicate drug dealers and street vendors from the country, emphasizing the need to protect the youth from the harmful effects of drugs.
“We are resolute in our mission to rid our nation of drug-related crimes and activities. We will not tolerate those who seek to poison our young generation, who represent the bright future of our country,” stated Minister Yerlikaya.
The successful operations serve as a reminder of the government’s commitment to combating the illicit drug trade and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
