A Gruesome Murder in Edirne: Son Kills Father, Dismembers, Burns, and Disposes of Body in River
A gruesome murder has shocked the residents of the Domurcalı village in Edirne’s Süloğlu district. The body of 58-year-old Şerif Yalçın was discovered cut into four pieces in a stream bed after he was reported missing. The perpetrator behind this heinous crime turned out to be none other than his own son, 27-year-old Canberk Yalçın.
Canberk initially reported his father missing and even joined the search efforts with the gendarmerie teams. However, his contradictory statements and suspicious behavior led to his eventual confession. He admitted to shooting his father with a gun, dismembering him with an axe, burning his body, and ultimately throwing the remains into the stream bed.
The gendarmerie teams conducted a large-scale investigation in the village, with the murderous son even leading them to concentrate their search efforts in the cemetery area. Following meticulous work, the body was found in the stream bed as a result of the teams’ intelligence and field work.
Canberk Yalçın and his wife, who were both detained in connection with the murder, were taken to the courthouse under tight security measures. The body of Şerif Yalçın was sent to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy after the investigation at the scene.
The residents of the village are left in shock and horror at the brutal nature of this crime, as they try to come to terms with the chilling reality of a son murdering his own father in such a gruesome manner.
