A Mother’s Forgiveness: The Apology at the Grave
Zehra Alın, a young girl who survived the devastating earthquake in Kahramanmaraş with her family, faced another tragedy when she lost her parents, Cemile and Tuncay Alın, in the disaster. The only thing she had left from her mother, a ring, was lost on the coast of Hatay’s Arsuz district during a holiday trip.
Desperate to find the precious ring, Zehra turned to social media for help and her post quickly gained the attention of millions of people. The authorities, including Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Öntürk and Arsuz Mayor Sami Üstün, joined the search efforts, using detectors and divers to locate the missing ring. Despite all their efforts, the ring could not be found, leaving Zehra heartbroken.
In a touching gesture, Zehra visited the graves of her parents in Kırıkhan district to pray and apologize to her mother for losing the ring. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her in the search and shared her belief that somehow, the ring would find its way back to her.
