Additional Macedonian Nightclub Fire Victims Admitted to Hungarian Hospitals
The North Pest Centrum Hospital – Military Hospital has extended its care to four additional patients injured in the tragic nightclub fire in North Macedonia. The Defense Minister made the announcement on Tuesday, stating that the Hungarian Defense Forces are transporting more patients to Hungary for treatment.
The weekend fire in North Macedonia resulted in the death of 59 young people and left at least 150 others injured. In response to this devastating tragedy, Hungary has stepped in to help provide medical care to those in need.
Currently, six young individuals between the ages of 20 and 30 are undergoing treatment at the hospital. Three patients are being treated at the Central Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care (KAITO), while the other three are being cared for at the Burn Surgery Department.
On Tuesday night, four more patients from the North Macedonia fire arrived at the North Pest Centrum Hospital – Military Hospital. The condition of those being treated at the Burn Surgery Department is stable, with respiratory support being provided alongside treatment for minor burns. Similarly, the patient at KAITO is in stable condition with minor burns and is expected to be transferred to the Burn Surgery Department soon. The initial group of patients who arrived with the first transport are also in stable condition but still require intensive therapy.
It has been noted that additional injured individuals may be brought to Hungary for treatment, with the Velkey László Children’s Health Center and the Bethesda Children’s Hospital also available to provide care if needed.
