AK Party Prepares to Announce Candidates for Local Elections
The AK Party is gearing up to announce its candidates for the upcoming local elections, particularly in Ankara. The candidate introductory meeting, where the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate will be revealed, is set to take place on Thursday, January 18, at 14:00 at the ATO Congress Center.
President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will announce a total of 48 mayoral candidates, 17 of which are for metropolitan cities including Ankara and Izmir. The meeting, which was initially scheduled for Sunday, January 14, was postponed due to the terrorist attack in Northern Iraq in the Operation Claw-Lock region, in which 9 soldiers were martyred.
