AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik Criticizes Kılıçdaroğlu’s Statements on Social Media
In a statement on social media, AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized the political ignorance and incompetence of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP).
Kılıçdaroğlu had sent an SMS to citizens stating his opposition to the mandate, claiming that it would allow foreign soldiers to enter the country. Çelik accused Kılıçdaroğlu of opposing measures necessary for Turkey’s security and the fight against terrorism, using lies to cover up his true intentions.
Çelik highlighted that this issue was clarified two years ago, with the inclusion of this article in every bill since 2014. He explained that the article was necessary because Turkey is part of the international anti-terrorism coalition. Interestingly, the CHP parliamentary group had previously approved bills containing the same article, raising questions about the party’s consistency. Çelik criticized Kılıçdaroğlu’s political ignorance and incompetence, suggesting that he either did not read the memorandums or changed his position due to newly formed alliance relations.
Çelik stressed that Kılıçdaroğlu’s excuse of foreign power influence for changing his attitude is baseless. He pointed out that in 2014 and 2015, a coalition was formed, including Turkey, 80 countries, and international organizations such as NATO and the Arab League, to combat terrorist organizations in the north of Syria and Iraq. Member countries of the coalition cooperate in various aspects, including personnel, materials, weapons, and air bases. Çelik accused Kılıçdaroğlu of lacking understanding in international relations and cooperation.
Furthermore, Çelik criticized Kılıçdaroğlu for sending messages that disturb citizens and stated that the CHP Administration’s stance on the bill aligns it with those who support the PKK. He emphasized that the CHP, under previous leadership, was sensitive to national security but claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu has deviated from this line.
Çelik assured that under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s leadership, Turkey will continue to fight against all terrorist organizations attempting to invade its borders.
