Alayköy Primary School’s New Multi-Purpose Sports Facility Opens with Ceremony
Alayköy Primary School celebrated the grand opening of its multi-purpose sports facility with a special ceremony. The facility, spanning over a thousand 300 square meters, offers students the opportunity to engage in various sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, and handball.
This project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of National Education, the Development and Economic Cooperation Office of Türkiye’s Embassy in Nicosia, Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality, Kyrenia Inner Wheel Club, and the Parent-Teacher Association.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem and words of gratitude from School Director Özden Ünbay, who emphasized the positive impact the facility will have on the physical, mental, and social development of the students. Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to supporting education and sports initiatives.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu highlighted the significance of creating spaces for children’s physical development and expressed gratitude for the collaboration in bringing this project to fruition.
The event concluded with the presentation of appreciation plaques and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, followed by a group photo to commemorate the special occasion. The new sports facility symbolizes a commitment to fostering holistic growth and well-being for the students of Alayköy Primary School.
