Almaty to Host Inaugural B5+1 Business Forum on Strengthening Regional Economic Integration in Central Asia
The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) reported that Almaty is gearing up to host the inaugural B5+1 Business Forum titled Strengthening Regional Economic Integration in Central Asia through Public-Private Dialogue on March 14-15.
Business 5+1 (B5+1) serves as a public-private dialogue platform that brings together the five Central Asian states (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) with the United States.
According to the CIPE report, the first day of the forum will focus on outlining the objectives and expected outcomes of the B5+1 platform. It will also feature recommendations from experts and business communities on policies to enhance economic integration and the investment climate. Additionally, the forum will highlight the vision of C5+1 governments for engaging the private sector in achieving mutual economic goals. On the second day, international perspectives on ways to boost trade and investment flows in Central Asia will be discussed.
The B5+1 Forum is part of a broader initiative funded by the U.S. Department of State and implemented by CIPE, a U.S. Chamber of Commerce affiliate, under the Improving the Business Environment in Central Asia (IBECA) program.
The B5+1 platform aims to complement the C5+1 diplomatic efforts by fostering trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Central Asian countries and the United States. It provides a platform for leaders and experts from the private sector in Central Asia to explore opportunities for building business and economic ties with neighboring countries in the region, the U.S., and beyond.
The upcoming B5+1 Business Forum in Almaty is expected to pave the way for enhanced economic integration and cooperation in Central Asia, benefiting both the region and its international partners.
