Disturbing footage brought to light by French channel BFMTV has revealed a serious rodent infestation problem at an Amazon warehouse in the Saran district of the city. In the video, rats can be seen freely running between the boxes of products, including perishable food items.
The images also show dead mouse pups among the food materials stored in the warehouse, with noticeable signs of contamination in certain areas. This alarming situation has persisted for several months, despite numerous warnings. The prolonged lack of action has sparked concerns about the health risks posed to both employees and customers.
A worker at the warehouse expressed fear of contracting diseases due to the infestation, while criticizing the lack of attention from authorities. Jean-Sylvere Guillon, a representative of the employee union, emphasized that the current measures taken to combat the mice problem are inadequate, calling for more effective solutions.
In response, Amazon stated that a pest control team has been deployed to the warehouse on multiple occasions. They assured that no parcels or products that have come into contact with mice have been sent to customers. However, doubts persist regarding the company’s ability to fully address the issue.
