Title: Celebrating the Independence Day of the United States in Tajikistan
Good evening dear friends! Welcome to the 247th Independence Day of the United States of America in the beautiful city of Dushanbe. The event was graced by the presence of Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, esteemed guests, and the honorable Ambassador of the United States.
In his speech, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for being able to celebrate this occasion in Tajikistan, which reminded him of his native California due to its stunning mountains, sunny climate, rich agriculture, and warm people. He acknowledged the legendary hospitality of the Tajik people and considered Tajikistan his second home.
The Fourth of July, known as America’s birthday, holds great significance. Just like millions of Americans who gather with their loved ones to celebrate with food, music, and cheer, the event in Dushanbe aimed to create a festive atmosphere for everyone present.
The Ambassador highlighted the history of the United States as a nation that brings together people from diverse backgrounds, countries, religions, and ethnicities. The foundational dream of the United States was to ensure the independence, freedom, and equality of all its people, and this spirit continues to thrive.
He mentioned notable moments in American history when dissent and civil disobedience were crucial for progress. The Boston Tea Party, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s march, the Women’s Rights convention, and the journalists who exposed unethical practices are all examples of American resilience and the pursuit of justice.
The Ambassador emphasized that America is a country of immigrants and celebrated the contributions made by immigrants and their descendants. The achievements of individuals like Steve Jobs and Amadeo Pietro Giannini exemplify the spirit of entrepreneurship that has transformed the country and the world.
He mentioned that the United States continually strives for freedom, equality, and opportunity for all. He welcomed the opportunity to share both the successes and failures of the American experience, highlighting the commitment to improve the lives and conditions of the people of Tajikistan.
The Ambassador acknowledged the close partnership between the United States and Tajikistan, both being young, newly independent nations with ambitious dreams. The United States is committed to uplifting Tajikistan’s sovereignty and independence, and together, they aspire to create a better future for all.
He expressed gratitude for Tajikistan’s immediate support following the September 11 attacks, including allowing French allies to launch air support missions from Dushanbe Airport. Tajikistan’s humanitarian aid for the Afghan people was also acknowledged.
The Ambassador underlined the importance of unity to uphold the rules-based international order, which is currently under grave threat. He mentioned the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and reassured Tajikistan that the United States will remain a steadfast partner against any aggression that affects Tajiks and Central Asians.
The United States remains committed to furthering Tajikistan’s sovereignty, economy, healthcare, civil society, and education, with the goal of providing more options and hope for its people. The Ambassador expressed sincere thanks to all partners involved in these efforts.
In conclusion, he thanked everyone for joining the celebration and left the audience with the beautiful words of Tajik poet Mirsaid Mirshakar, emphasizing the value of friendship.
Happy birthday, America! Cheers to our friends!
