Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu Discusses Trade and Development Plans in Ankara
Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu recently had important meetings in Ankara, Turkey to discuss various topics related to trade and development plans for the country. During his visit, Minister Amcaoğlu met with Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat to discuss re-evaluating the country’s annual exports within the scope of e-commerce and coastal trade.
Amcaoğlu highlighted the need for legislative and infrastructural improvements to support the economy of a small island country like Cyprus. He mentioned the importance of enhancing customs practices related to e-commerce and expanding coastal trade to increase trade volumes.
The minister also discussed the interoperability of x-ray devices and customs automation in Kyrenia and Famagusta Trade Ports, emphasizing the need for improved infrastructure to support e-commerce growth. Additionally, Minister Amcaoğlu mentioned plans to reach over 60 million dollars in coastal trade volume and the importance of addressing informality in trade practices.
In addition to his meeting with Minister Bolat, Amcaoğlu also met with Vice President of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz, to discuss development plans and energy-related legislation. They talked about the Ministry of Economy and Energy’s role in the Energy Department’s Supreme Council and upcoming energy laws.
Minister Amcaoğlu expressed his commitment to improving the country’s national income, promoting green energy, boosting tourism, and enhancing higher education by 2030. He emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure sustainable development and provide a better quality of life for its citizens.
