American Crime Series Films New Episodes in Szeged
In September, the American television channel CBS will be returning to Szeged for filming, casting extras for the next season of the FBI: International series, as reported by Szeged.
It is not the first time that the crew will be shooting in the southern Hungarian city, as scenes to depict Madrid in the first season were filmed in Szeged in September 2021. During that time, the city’s streets were transformed into Spanish streets and various locations were used to portray different settings.
The first season of the series was mostly shot in Hungary, with filming taking place in Szeged as well as other locations such as Budapest, Buda Castle, and more. The upcoming season of FBI: International is set to continue the trend of filming in Hungary, with the city of Szeged once again playing a role.
Based on an advertisement by a casting agency, they are currently looking for extras for the Szeged shoot, scheduled to take place on September 2.
FBI: International is a spin-off of the FBI series, following a team of FBI agents investigating crimes abroad, mainly in Europe. The series explores the challenges faced by the FBI team when working with foreign authorities, including language barriers and cultural differences.
The first part of the fourth season is set to be released in October, shortly after the filming in Szeged. While it is unclear if Szeged will be featured in the initial episodes, the city’s role in the series showcases Hungary’s appeal as a filming location for international productions.
Overall, the ongoing collaboration between CBS and Hungary highlights the country’s growing reputation as a desirable location for international film and television productions. The presence of such high-profile series in Hungary not only boosts the local economy but also promotes the country as a vibrant and diverse filming destination.
