Anamur Mayor Deniz accepted at the ceremony
President of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre recently met with Anamur Mayor Durmuş Deniz and his accompanying delegation. The reception took place at the Assembly Hall of Honor, with some members of Anamur Municipality also in attendance.
During his speech, President Töre highlighted the significance of Anamur for the Turkish Cypriot people, emphasizing how the radio broadcasts from Anamur played a crucial role in the resistance. He also pointed out the historical importance of the weapons carried by the blessings and the students traveling from Anamur to Erenköy, noting how these events added value to the region in the context of Cyprus.
President Töre expressed his support for the sister municipality relationship between Kyrenia Municipality and Anamur Municipality, stating his hope for its continued strength. He emphasized the unity between the two municipalities, saying, “We do not see ourselves as separate from you.”
In his address, President Töre affirmed the strong bond between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkey, noting that Turkey’s guarantor and support are crucial for the TRNC’s continued advancement. He concluded by emphasizing the interdependence of TRNC and Turkey, stating, “There can be no TRNC without Turkey.”
The meeting between President Töre and Mayor Durmuş Deniz serves as a testament to the close relationship between Anamur and the Turkish Cypriot community, highlighting the shared history and mutual support between the two entities.
