Anchovy Festival Takes Place in Kyrenia
The 16th Anchovy Festival organized by the Black Sea Culture Association was recently held in Kyrenia, attracting a distinguished lineup of guests and officials. Among the attendees were President Ersin Tatar, President of the Assembly of the Republic Ziya Öztürkler, Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, and Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia Yasin Ekrem Serim.
During the festival, Murat Civelek, president of the Black Sea Cultural Association, made a heartfelt statement expressing condolences to Republic of Turkey in light of the recent fire disaster in Bolu Kartalkaya and emphasized the importance of unity and love in preserving cultural heritage. Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı also expressed his condolences and highlighted the integration of Turkish traditions into Cypriot culture.
Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu acknowledged the sacrifices made by Turkish Cypriots and emphasized the importance of collaboration with Turkey for a brighter future. Similarly, President of the Assembly of the Republic, Ziya Öztürkler, stressed unity and solidarity, especially in the face of tragedy.
President Ersin Tatar emphasized the role of cultural events in strengthening ties between the TRNC and Turkey, reaffirming their commitment to continued cooperation. The festival was also attended by other esteemed guests, including Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul, Trabzon Deputy Governor Ali Yılmaz, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, and Trabzonspor Coach Şenol Güneş, who all praised the event for showcasing solidarity and tradition.
