Gendarmerie Busts Cobra Venom Smuggling Operation
Gendarmerie teams have recently made a significant breakthrough in the district of Beypazarı, as they uncovered a plot by suspects VL and S.S to sell cobra venom to customers. Acting on valuable information, the teams were quick to track down the suspects and put an end to their illegal activities.
The operation led the teams to the Dibecik neighborhood, where they successfully intercepted the suspects’ vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities were shocked to discover a stash of cobra venom hidden inside pencils, with an estimated market value of around 6 million pounds.
The suspects, who now face charges of “manufacturing and trade,” have been taken into custody as the gendarmerie continues to investigate the case. This latest bust serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal wildlife trafficking and the dangerous black market trade in exotic animal products.
