Ankara Court Denies Existence of Peace Council at Home

The Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has recently released a statement regarding the Ankara 17th High Criminal Court’s decision in the General Staff Roof Case. According to the statement posted on their social media account, the court’s decision shed light on the involvement of the ‘Peace at Home Council’ in the attempted coup on July 15, 2016.

The court stated that the members of the organization involved in the coup attempt referred to themselves as the ‘Peace at Home Council’ after receiving a message from the organization’s leader in esoteric language. They then proceeded to publish a coup declaration under this name, leading to the attempted armed coup.

Furthermore, the statement from the DMM highlighted that the Supreme Court’s decision reaffirmed the link between the coup attempt and the ‘Peace at Home Council’, which was identified as a junta structure created by the FETO/PDY armed terrorist organization.

The DMM’s statement also included a warning against trusting unfounded claims, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before spreading it. This update serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat disinformation and uphold the truth in public discourse.
