“Ankara Phone Shop Robbed by Four; Captured on Camera”
A group of four unidentified women have stolen several items from a phone shop in the Başpınar Neighborhood of Turkey. The incident occurred at approximately 4 pm yesterday, with one of the suspects distracting the cashier and stealing 1000 TL using the nail-making method. Other items, including speakers, phone cases, and headphones, were also stolen using sleight of hand. The entire theft was recorded on the shop’s security camera, allowing the owner, Tolgay Kolcu, to file a complaint with the police.
Kolcu estimated his total loss at 7,000 liras. He stated that the suspects were skilled in confusing and purifying staff before quickly making off with the stolen items. “When the women go out, they come to their senses,” Kolcu said. “One of them distracts the other staff, while the others take the speaker, phone case, and earphones. They do this within 10 minutes.”
The police have now launched an operation to catch the suspects. It’s not uncommon for members of the public to fall victim to slick, well-practiced thieves that frequent the area. It’s a vital reminder to be aware of one’s surroundings and to always keep a close eye on all personal belongings.
