Antalya and Istanbul Airports Break Records During Holiday Season

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced a new record-breaking day at Antalya Airport. On Saturday, June 15, a total of 1163 flights and 198,944 passengers were recorded, surpassing the previous record set in 2024.

In a statement shared on his social media account titled ‘We are flying to the top in transportation’, Minister Uraloğlu expressed his pride in the achievement. He highlighted the significance of this milestone for Turkey, emphasizing the country’s commitment to providing comfort and efficiency in all sectors.

Meanwhile, Istanbul Airport also saw a significant surge in flight activity on the same day. A total of 1,642 flights were operated, marking the second highest flight traffic for the airport. Known as the busiest airport in Europe, Istanbul Airport previously set a record during the Champions League final match held in 2023, with 1,690 flights operated on that day.

The aviation sector in Turkey continues to thrive, with both Antalya and Istanbul airports playing crucial roles in connecting passengers domestically and internationally. As the country aims to enhance its transportation infrastructure, these records represent a step towards achieving excellence in air travel services.
