Antalya Devastated by Terrifying Tornado
A Tornado Strikes Gazipaşa, Turkey
On May 6th, 2023, a heavy rain and storm visited the Mediterranean region, causing a tornado in Gazipaşa. The tornado occurred off the Selinus Beach and was witnessed by many citizens who took photographs of the event. The tornado caused some concern among residents following the disaster in Anamur.
Thankfully, the tornado stayed over the sea and was seen clearly from the city center before it disappeared. The storm resulted in a great deal of precipitation, which also impacted the region.
The news source, UAV, reported on the event which occurred at approximately 6:43 PM local time. While tornadoes are not uncommon in Turkey, seeing one close to home can be frightening for residents. Despite this, it seems that no one was injured during the occurrence.
It is important to note that tornadoes can occur rapidly and with little warning. Those living in areas that are prone to severe weather should take precautions to ensure their safety. Keep an eye on weather reports, and if severe weather is expected, seek shelter immediately.
