Mongolian Organizations Come Together to Support Herdsmen Affected by Zhud
In an effort to support and assist herdsmen affected by the natural disaster known as zhud, several prominent Mongolian organizations are banding together to provide aid during this challenging time. The Gandantegchenlin monastery, Mongolian wrestling federation, Mongolian Equestrian Association, Mongolian Archery Association, and “Malchin” television are all calling on the community to join in their efforts to provide relief to those in need.
Magaljav Tserendashdorj, The Head of Mongolian Wrestling Federation, stated, “Mongolian wrestling federation joins the fundraising campaign for herdsmen affected by zhud, implementing our social responsibility. For this campaign, we will organize a national wrestling competition on March 1. Wrestlers themselves have expressed their willingness to donate to their provinces.”
Similarly, Gonchigsuren.Ts, the vice president of Mongolian Equestrian Association, emphasized the importance of support during this challenging time, saying, “This year, Mongolians are experiencing a very harsh winter. Therefore, the Mongolian Equestrian Association is joining the fundraising campaign and calling on other organizations to join us. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mongolian Equestrian Association donated 120 million MNT. We have more than 120 thousand horse trainers, and some of them, who have national titles, will organize an auction featuring their own race horses to contribute to the cause.”
The solidarity and support shown by these organizations serve as a beacon of hope for the affected herdsmen, showcasing the strength and resilience of the Mongolian community during difficult times. As they come together to provide assistance, their efforts will undoubtedly make a meaningful difference for those in need.
