Approval of 2022 Tax and Public Receivables Collection Decree by BRTK
Council of Ministers Approves Legal Decree on Accelerating Tax Collection
The Council of Ministers has recently approved the Legal Decree on Amending the Legal Decree on Accelerating the Collection of Taxes and Public Receivables for 2022 and Previous Taxation Periods. This decree aims to streamline the tax collection process and make it easier for liable parties to settle their debts.
Under this decree, liable parties who wish to take advantage of the new rules can apply with declarations and forms issued by the Revenue and Tax Office until the end of working hours on October 30, 2024. This provides individuals and businesses with a clear deadline to submit their applications and start the process of managing their tax liabilities.
In addition, local governments will also benefit from this decree by being able to collect their receivables more efficiently. They can make use of the rules outlined in the decree by making decisions at their own councils, allowing for a more streamlined debt collection process at the local level.
One key aspect of the decree is the option for individuals and businesses to pay their debts in installments. After submitting an application, 20 percent of the total payable debt will need to be deposited before the end of working hours on the application day. This installment option provides flexibility for taxpayers to manage their financial obligations more effectively.
Overall, the approval of this Legal Decree marks an important step towards improving tax collection procedures and providing more support to individuals and businesses in managing their tax liabilities. By streamlining the process and introducing new rules, the government aims to create a more efficient and transparent system for tax collection.
