Arab Union, GCC, and Arab Parliament Reject Trump’s Plan for Gaza
President Trump’s recent proposal regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been met with widespread rejection from the Arab and international community. The plan, which was criticized for disregarding international law and the rights of the Palestinian people, has been seen as a threat to the chances of achieving a two-state solution.
The Arab Parliament, led by President Muhammad Ahmed al-Yemahi, strongly condemned Trump’s statements, noting that they only serve to escalate tensions in the region and do not contribute to the peace process. Yemahi emphasized that any attempt to ignore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people constitutes a crime against humanity.
Similarly, the Gulf Cooperation Organization (GCC) and the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have also rejected Trump’s plan, calling it an unjust attack on the Palestinian people’s rights. The GCC Secretary General, Casim Muhammad al-Budeyvi, reiterated the organization’s support for a two-state solution and the sovereignty of the Palestinian people.
Trump’s proposal to “take over” Gaza and forcibly relocate Palestinians to neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan has been met with outrage and criticism. Many countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, have denounced the plan as unacceptable and a violation of international law.
In light of these developments, it is clear that Trump’s proposal has only served to increase tensions in the region and hinder efforts towards a lasting peace settlement. It is essential for all parties involved to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy in order to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
