Arafa Day Messages: The Meaning and Significance of Arafa Day Compiled – Latest Update from Turkey

The Significance of the Day of Arafa and the Takbirs of Tashriq
The day of Arafa holds immense virtue and importance in Islam. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has emphasized the significance of this day by stating, “There is no day when Allah frees people from the fire of hell more than the day of Arafa.” This quote can be found in hadith 196-197.
One of the rituals that are obligatory on the day of Arafa is to recite the takbir of tashrik. This takbir is to be said after every obligatory prayer, a total of twenty-three times per day. The takbirs should start after the morning prayer on the day of Arafa and continue until the afternoon prayer on the fourth day of Eid.
The wording of the Takbir of Tashriq is as follows: “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilahe Illallahu Vallahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar Velillahil praise.” By reciting this takbir, Muslims are expressing their belief in the greatness of Allah and praising Him.
It is important to note that every obligatory prayer, whether performed in congregation or alone, and regardless of whether one is sacrificing an animal or not, requires the recitation of the takbirs of Tashriq. This means that all Muslims, whether they are travelers or residents, must fulfill this obligation.
The takbirs of Tashriq are a beautiful way to remember the significance of the day of Arafa and to seek Allah’s forgiveness and blessings. Through these takbirs, Muslims are reminded of the mercy and compassion of Allah, who forgives sins and grants salvation on this blessed day.
As Muslims prepare to celebrate the upcoming Eid, they should remember the importance of the day of Arafa and fulfill the obligation of reciting the takbirs of Tashriq. By doing so, they will not only follow a beautiful tradition established by our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), but also gain spiritual rewards and closeness to Allah.
May Allah accept our prayers and grant us His mercy on the day of Arafa and throughout the blessed days of Eid. Let us seize this opportunity to seek forgiveness, reflect on our actions, and strive to become better individuals.
