Ardahan, Kars, and Ağrı Experienced Freezing Cold Weather After Snowfall
The eastern regions of Turkey, including Ardahan, Kars, and Ağrı, experienced freezing cold temperatures after a recent snowfall. Ardahan, in particular, saw thermometers drop to 17 degrees below zero at night, causing icy conditions on roads and sidewalks. Trees and plants were covered with frost, creating a picturesque winter landscape.
In the Göle district, the cold weather was even more severe, with temperatures plummeting to 22 degrees below zero. Freezing colds gripped the district, making it challenging for residents to go about their daily activities.
In Kars, the snowfall was replaced by freezing cold temperatures, with the air measuring 17 degrees below zero. The city was adorned with frost-covered trees and plants, creating a magical winter wonderland. At Kafkas University and Kars Castle Dereiçi, the trees glistened with frost, adding to the beauty of the landscape.
Sarıkamış district also experienced cold weather and dense fog, affecting visibility on the road to Kars-Erzurum. Drivers faced challenges due to the reduced visibility, while some waterfalls and fountains in the district were transformed into icy sculptures.
Meanwhile, in Ağrı, freezing cold temperatures prevailed after snowfall, with thermometers showing 18 degrees below zero at night. Concerned citizens took measures to protect their vehicles from the cold, covering them with blankets and tarpaulins. The morning fog in the city center further reduced visibility, adding to the challenging weather conditions.
