Arıklı: Financial Support Needed for Contributing Departments – BRTK
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, along with Undersecretary Enver Öztürk and KTAMS President Güven Bengihan, recently attended a meeting at the Post Office to celebrate World Post Day on October 9th. During his speech, Minister Arıklı congratulated the employees and commended them for their dedicated work.
The Minister emphasized the importance of supporting departments that contribute to the budget in order to enhance the quality of services provided. He mentioned that both the Postal Department and the Vehicle Registration, Inspection, and Licensing Branch play a significant role in the state budget. Minister Arıklı also discussed upcoming projects such as the construction of a “Mail Operation Center” in the Nicosia Industrial Zone and the marketing of products produced by women in rural areas through PTT AVM.
Undersecretary Enver Öztürk reflected on the evolution of postal services, highlighting the value that letters held in the past compared to today’s instant communication through emails. Postal Department Director Yakup İskender emphasized the need for budgetary support to ensure the continued improvement and safety of postal services.
KTAMS President Güven Bengihan stressed the importance of addressing the department’s shortcomings in order to provide the best possible service to the public. Looking ahead to next year’s World Post Day event, Bengihan expressed a commitment to collaboration with the Postal Department.
