
Arrest Made in Attack, Says Foundations General Director Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer – BRTK

The Bayraktar Mosque in South Nicosia was targeted in an attack by a Syrian individual on Sunday, January 19th. According to Foundations General Director Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, the attacker was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
Following the attack, Tümer met with the mosque’s imam and reported the incident to the Greek police, leading to the arrest of the attacker. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been informed about the situation.
The incident serves as a reminder of the need for increased security measures to protect places of worship and the importance of addressing issues related to substance abuse.
