Artvin-Ardahan Highway Hit by Landslide
A landslide on the Artvin-Şavşat-Ardanuç-Ardahan highway caused a temporary road closure on Tuesday. The incident occurred at the 22nd kilometer of the road, where rocks and soil masses fell onto the roadway.
Both directions of the road were closed to traffic as a result of the landslide. The authorities were promptly notified, and gendarmerie and Highways teams were dispatched to the area to address the situation.
After approximately 1 hour of closure, the road was reopened to single-lane controlled traffic thanks to the efforts of the Highways teams. Meanwhile, security measures were taken by the gendarmerie to ensure the safety of the area.
The teams are currently working in the region to clear the debris and ensure the stability of the slope. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and follow any instructions given by the authorities while traveling through the affected area.
