Assembly Approves Two Bills, Adjourns Session – BRTK
The General Assembly of the Republic of Cyprus recently convened to discuss and approve several important legislative matters. One of the key issues on the agenda was the appointment of public officials, as well as amendments related to upper-level management and motor vehicle transportation. The Draft Law pertaining to these matters was unanimously approved by the Assembly.
During the session, various members of the Assembly, including CTP President Tufan Erhürman, addressed important topics such as insurance premiums, employment support funds, and social security. Erhürman raised concerns about the lack of clarity regarding certain government practices and urged for urgent answers to pending questions.
Interior Minister Dursun Oguz also provided insights on issues related to pistol permissions, public security measures, and arms licensing. Additionally, Labor and Social Security Minister Sadik Gardiyanoglu shared updates on social insurance premium support, employment projects, and initiatives to support local labor force.
Following thorough deliberations and discussions, the Assembly voted on and unanimously passed the Draft Law on upper-level management appointments. The session also included the review of the Court of Accounts Audit Report and the approval of amendments related to motor vehicle transportation.
The General Assembly has adjourned its current session and is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 10.00 for further deliberations. The discussions and decisions made during this session reflect the commitment of the Republic of Cyprus to address important legislative matters and ensure the welfare of its citizens.
