YDP Elects Figen Yaman Lesinger as Deputy Candidate for By-Election
The Rebirth Party (YDP) has announced its deputy candidate for the upcoming by-election to be held on June 25. Assoc. Dr. Figen Yaman Lesinger has been selected as the YDP candidate for the Nicosia parliamentary position, which was vacated by the resignation of People’s Party (HP) Chairman Kudret Özersay.
YDP Chairman Erhan Arıklı, who announced the candidate, stated that the party had chosen an ambitious candidate and would do their best to win the election. Lesinger is a long-time member of the YDP, and Arıklı expressed confidence that she would represent the party and its base in the best possible way.
Lesinger, while expressing her gratitude to the YDP for the opportunity offered, pledged to do everything she could to help young people and women go louder, higher, and further. She also wished success to the other parties in the election.
During the press conference, the YDP Chairman also stated that the sum of 30 million liras was a significant expense for a single deputy. However, he expressed that they would still work towards winning the election or increasing their vote rate much higher than expected.
