Astana Forum evaluates water scarcity and trade diversification in the region.

Kazakhstan is set to host the Astana International Forum (AIF) on June 8-9. The event will address major issues, including water scarcity, and the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor. A panel session will explore innovative solutions to tackle water scarcity, which has become a growing challenge for Central Asian countries. Experts are urging countries to prioritise enhanced cooperation in this area, including the creation of water and energy consortia to address cross-border cooperation with neighbouring countries. The Middle Corridor will also be discussed at the event, with a panel session set to focus on the challenges of international trade regulations and investment required to expand existing infrastructure and create new ones.
