Attempted Sexual Abuser Caught in Istanbul
A 7-year-old girl narrowly escaped a potential abduction in the Fırat District of Kayapınar district. The incident occurred on Ayşenur Zarakolu Street in the evening hours of October 9. The suspect, identified as HT, attempted to take the young girl behind a soil puddle in a field. Fortunately, observant individuals intervened, causing HT to flee the scene. Health and police teams were immediately alerted and the child was taken for a health check before being referred to the Child Monitoring Center (ÇİM).
Police launched an operation to apprehend HT, who was later located and arrested with the help of the City Security Management System (KGYS) and security cameras. The investigation into the suspect’s motives and actions is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Kayapınar Municipality swiftly responded to the incident by removing the soil deposits in the area and leveling the ground to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
This disturbing incident comes shortly after a separate violent episode in Başakşehir, where an individual armed with a knife attempted to enter a school and randomly attacked three people, leaving them injured. The perpetrator’s actions were captured on camera, highlighting the growing concerns around public safety and the need for increased vigilance.
