Australian and New Zealand Soldiers Gather at Anzak Bay for Historical Ceremony
A moving commemoration ceremony took place in Anzac Bay on the Gallipoli Peninsula, where people from Australia and New Zealand gathered to honor the soldiers who fought in the Çanakkale Wars. Participants traveled from the city center of Çanakkale to the ceremony area at night in service vehicles, where they waited for the ritual time while watching a documentary about the historic wars on a giant screen.
Among those paying their respects was Chris Brant from Australia, who shared that his great uncle was wounded in the Gallipoli in 1915 and later passed away in France in 1917. Brant reflected on the surreal experience of imagining the pain and sacrifices his ancestors went through during the war.
Jim Phillips from Australia also expressed the significance of being present at the ceremony marking the 110th anniversary of the events at Gallipoli. Australian Davina Tuda echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of attending such commemorative events.
