Authorities detain 75 in “qualified fraud” raids
“75 suspects caught in ‘Cybergöz-12′ operations in 20 provinces for qualified fraud”
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, announced that a total of 75 suspects were caught and detained in the “Cybergöz-12” operations carried out in 20 provinces for the crime of “Qualified Fraud.” These operations were conducted by the Provincial Police Departments’ Anti-Cyber Crime Branch Directorates under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security’s Anti-Cyber Crimes Department.
Yerlikaya emphasized the government’s commitment to combating qualified fraud using information systems and reassured the public that the authorities are actively pursuing those involved in such criminal activities.
In a statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya expressed his gratitude to the police officers who carried out the operations and thanked the public for their support. He also assured the nation that the government’s operations against those who commit qualified fraud will continue to intensify.
The operations were carried out in provinces including Istanbul, Izmir, Nevşehir, Isparta, Mersin, Konya, Samsun, Van, Adana, Osmaniye, Kırşehir, Batman, Kocaeli, Tekirdağ, Aydın, Balıkesir, Kayseri, Aksaray, Gaziantep, and Yalova.
The Minister’s announcement has garnered widespread support from the public, and the success of the operations is seen as a positive step in the fight against cybercrime in Turkey.
