Azerbaijan Starts Exporting Silkworm Cocoons to Uzbekistan
In 2024, Azerbaijan’s silk industry saw a significant growth in exports of silkworm cocoons suitable for unwinding. According to the country’s State Statistical Committee, Azerbaijan exported 29.85 tons of silkworm cocoons worth $339,500 during the year. This marked a significant increase of 2.1-fold in terms of quantity and 2-fold in terms of value compared to the previous year.
