Azercosmos and China Team Up to Study Caspian Sea Climate Impact

Azerbaijan’s Azercosmos and Chinese Company Collaborate on Climate Change Research
Azercosmos, the national satellite operator of Azerbaijan, has teamed up with the Chinese company STAR.VISION to embark on a joint research project focused on assessing the impact of climate change on the Caspian Sea. Utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and remote sensing, the study aims to analyze key environmental indicators like water level fluctuations, coastal erosion, and ecosystem disturbances spanning the past twenty years.
This collaborative effort is further supported by Ningbo University in China, an institution renowned for its expertise in coastal zone and ecological research. By leveraging the combined resources and knowledge of these organizations, the project seeks to deepen our understanding of environmental changes in the Caspian Sea region.
The partnership between Azerbaijan and China in the field of environmental protection continues to strengthen with initiatives like this research project. It underscores the mutual commitment to leveraging cutting-edge solutions in space technology, artificial intelligence, and Earth observation for sustainable development. As both countries strive towards a greener and more sustainable future, collaborative efforts like this are crucial in addressing the challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation.
